What Is The Business? It seems that that music business has been infiltrated by a bunch of fakers and scammers, alongside of what we call the real business. Now a day’s everybody’s doing that same thing. The big record labels down to the side street hustlers. So who’s who? Is the question asked by all indie artists who these days are working harder than the artist from the past, who are simply being taken in by their dreams? Paying money to perform, while conjuring up celebs, and major management in the middle of nowhere with no crowd. Who don’t want to become successful? Most of these shenanigans are joined industry Exes, who get paid to show up at events for no more than 20 minutes to scam alongside the scammers, to hopefully build the crowed up through PR’s and radio advertisement. Why not? From 5 to 700 bucks for 20 minutes who wouldn’t show they face and have a couple of drinks and pass a few cards out easy living. These are some of the things I’ve learned, and how the industry has changed so much. From a fortune 500 failing website (Heritage Web Solutions) with over 620,000 fans to zip zero, dealing with ex-industry artist as managers is a good waste of time and money. People work hard to make their dreams a reality, dreams are free and everyone has them, so why do we pay so much to make our dreams a reality. Money that you can’t afford to spend but you do hoping and thinking that you’re doing the right thing. The industry is a big beast, know what you’re getting into or it will tear you apart. You need a shark to swim with a pool of sharks if then you’re just bait. My artist has opened up for Lil Boose, Juvenile, Lil Flip and many other New Orleans, local artist, did a few movie soundtracks one was on a 50 Cent movie (Blood Out) The other was for a movie that still hasn’t came out.
